Incidental findings (non-nodule/cancer findings - IFs) are commonly detected on screening CT scans of the thorax. Identifying IFs may contribute to general health benefits amongst lung cancer screenees, or may burden the health system and patients with clinically non-relevant ‘noise’. We will discuss the careful balance required to navigate this issue.

Smoking cessation, in the context of lung cancer screening, is a hot topic. Helping patients quit smoking is an important health- and cost-benefit driver in screening and lung cancer generally, but the optimum model of care remains uncertain. We review the international evidence base and on-going work in this area.
