Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in Aotearoa New Zealand. There are serious ethnic inequities in both lung cancer incidence and mortality. Low dose CT lung cancer screening, when introduced in Aotearoa, must not increase these inequities. Current national cancer screening programmes do not deliver screening services equitable to Māori. This presentation will describe a programme of work being undertaken to ensure that a lung cancer screening programme is effective and equitable for Māori people.
