Bena Brown
I am a Senior Research Fellow at Menzies School of Health Research and part of the Target Approaches to Improving Cancer Services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People (TACTICS) Centre of Research Excellence. My research focusses on optimising health service delivery and cancer care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with cancer and their families, using novel approaches like telehealth and technology to prioritise the Indigenous voice. I was awarded my PhD in 2012 from The University of Queensland. I am engaged in person-centred research design and passionate about research that delivers visible outcomes to patients and their families. I am especially passionate about optimizing equity and access to cancer care in survivorship. I have over 50 peer-reviewed publications, have presented at multiple national and international conferences, and have been awarded over $3.5 million in research grants.
