Jesmin Shafiq
Dr. Jesmin Shafiq MBBS MCN MPH PhD is a medical epidemiologist working in Collaboration of Cancer Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CCORE) for about two decades and experienced in cancer service evaluation research. Decision analytical modelling studies involving radiotherapy nationally and globally is one of her key research interests. Dr. Shafiq has been responsible for various completed and undergoing research projects at CCORE with publications in national and international journals. She has contributed significantly in all recent and previous CCORE lead national and international radiotherapy service research, especially, those related to optimal radiotherapy utilization, evidence-based benefits and costing of radiotherapy in national and State level. Another of Dr. Shafiq’s special interest projects includes assessment of demand and supply of radiotherapy services in low- and middle-income countries. Through her PhD research she also contributed to the work of the Global Task Force on radiotherapy in Cancer Control (GTFCC). She also holds a conjoint senior lecturer position at UNSW and supervises undergraduate and postgraduate medical students doing their research projects.
