Sam Sperring
Sam Sperring is a PhD candidate at the Translational Health Research Institute at the University of Western Sydney, writing her dissertation on the cancer experiences of gender and sexuality diverse women. She is a sessional academic in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Technology, Sydney, and her research here has explored the relationship between queer theory and the material practices of local queer activist communities. She has spoken on these areas in various forums and has related works published in the journals Assuming Gender, Anthropologica, The SAGE Encyclopedia of Trans Studies, Voiceworks and in the edited collection Mothers, Sex, and Sexuality.
